Bike Day 🚲

Hola Blogerrs,

Last week on Wednesday we learnt how to ride a bike and what to do before getting on a bike. The first thing we learnt was how to put on a helmet the right way. Before we did all of that we went in room 7.

In room 7

In room 7 we went to this poster and had to spot what are all the hazards. After we did that, we went to a really big piece of paper and put a sticker under how you come to school and how you want to come to school. When we were done they gave us a word search and I was the first to finish so they let me pick a prize out of a water bottle, some stickers and I dont know what else they offered me but I chose a water bottle that you can stick on your bike ( I dont have a bike or scooter ). Finally  I thought we were done, but NO they told us to use the unused words to find a hidden message, and Blane finished it first ( Hooray for her ).

Putting on a helmet

The right way to putting on a helmet is, mkaing sure there is no cracks, doing the 3 s’s, and doing 2 4 2 after putting on your helmet to make sure your not suffercating and so the helmet is secure. The 3 s’s are, the shell of the helmet, the styrofoam ( The inside of the helmet is made from styrofoam ), the third and final s is I forgot because it was last week and I don’t remember everything. The next thing we idd was check adn 2 4 2, the first 2 is putting 2 fingers under you helmet, the 4 is getting 2 fingers and putting it in a triangle shape, and then putting it under your ear’s.

Checking your bike

The next thing we did is go to our bike’s, for our bike’s we had to check a b c d, a stands for air for checking the air in the bike you have to push done on the tire’s and make sure they’re hard. B stands for brake’s, to check your brake’s you have to ride and then push in the handle for you brake’s you do this to the front brake’s and back. C stands for chains to check if your chains are alright you just check them to see if they have rust.  D stands for directions, and to check your directions to stand in front of your bike and then put your front wheel in your legs and then twist the handles of your bike, what you have to do is make sure the front wheel doesn’t move.

Riding the bike

Before some people had a turn they had to let there buddy go first ( I was one of those people that had to let there buddy go first ). After my buddy went it was my turn and when it was my turn we played a game.  The game was really easy all we had to do is stay inside these cones and ride our bike, but we weren’t allowed to put our foot down. A but later I got out and then a couple minutes later the bell rang but they were still playing and I left so I dont know who won.

Comment if you know what the final s is ?

Pedal power

Aloha,

Every wednesday and friday in march we would do bike training. The first thing we had to do was check our shoes, and then our helmet. The way we had to check our helmet was to see if it had any cracks. For that we had to put our fingers inside and then like widen our fingers to see if any cracks were opening, after that we had to unclick the thing at the back and then put the helmet back on your head and then twist the thing to the clicking way until it’s on your head and it doesn’t move. When everybody did that we had to do the number check the numbers were 124. The one was for your head, the 2 was for your ears and the 4 was for your chin. Next up was getting a bike then bike checking it.

The way we had to check was with the letters abcd, a was for air, b was for breaks, c for chains and d for directions. The way we checked the letters was a for air press on the wheels to see if they are hard or soft if they are soft then you have to pump it up, b was for brakes which was pushing your bike forward and then using your brakes if it keeps on going forward your brakes are broken if it doesn’t then your good. C was for chains which was the easiest cause you just had to check and see if the chains are rusty and if they are working properly. D was directions and you had to stand in front of the bike and try to move it. If it doesn’t then you’re all right. Then we would glide after we glided we had to practice pedaling and then if you were confident you could go to the other court and do some turning and but if you were not confident then you would stay on the court that you are already on and just go around the court.
